Purple Plum Fairy Summer Giveaway

It’s officially summer. There’s nothing fun than having a summer getaway with the entire family. But before you head off to the beach, remember to take all the essentials with you so you’re prepared for anything. I have here my own list of stuff a mommy must-have during travels.
You could win one of these tubes...
Sunblock/Sunscreen—Your kids and babies will surely love to swim for hours. And as mommies, we’d want to make sure that every inch of our child is protected by the sun. I particularly love Banana Boat’s Baby Sunscreen Lotion in SPF50. It’s got both UVA and UVB spectrum protection and is enriched with Aloe Vera and vitamin E to help keep baby’s skin soft. It’s fragrance-free and water resistant. Apply the lotion evenly at least 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply often or as needed. However, you need to consult your physician before using this product on children under six months of age.

Shades/sunglasses—I have a small collection of shades and I see to it that I make use of them during summer. UVA rays penetrate our eyes causing degenerative changes in the retina. Wear sunglasses and ask your doctor to prescribe one for your kids. Sunglasses are used to protect our eyes but it’s also great especially when you need to take naps during long trips.
Pack and drink plenty of liquids. Have your kids sip on water throughout the day to avoid dehydration. To make it more fun, give them fruity drinks in fun tumblers and straws.

Bring some fun beach toys with you. Nothing too fancy, just a plastic pail and shovel will keep your little tots busy and happy!

Flip-flops/sandals—Never walk barefooted on the beach. Wearing flip-flops or sandals are your protection from the hot sand, broken shells, bottle caps, and other sharp-edged trash hidden in the sand.

First Aid Kit—It’s always a must-have especially when the entire family travels out-of-town. We have a stock of medicines for nausea, povidone-iodine, alcohol, gauze and other things needed during first aid.

Arm floaters/Kick boards/life vests—We don’t rely on these stuff because adult supervision is still the best way to keep our kids safe in the water so we keep an eye on them. However, these life savers make them have more fun in the water so we still bring them.

Books/iPODs/Portable Game Consoles—I never travel without a good book in hand. I make sure to keep a day or two for reading when I travel. For kids who aren’t into reading, a portable game console, mp3 or an iPOD may be your other options.  I recommend Bob Ong’s latest book in my favorite color, what else, but in purple covers will keep you glued to your seats.
Bob Ong's latest best selling book, "Ang mga kaibigan ni Mama Susan" in stylish purple cover.
A reliable map—I had a very interesting travel in Baguio last year because it was easier for us to navigate the town proper using a reliable map. Since we did not get lost, we were able to access all alternative routes to avoid traffic and we’re able to visit our all in our itineraries, thereby saving time.

Snacks and lots of it—In order to prevent starvation, we need to bring in loads of snack during travels. Don’t forget to bring in the wet tissue wipes as well and hand sanitizers.

Be that bikini babe with smooth legs this summer with these Body Natur goodies.

Bathing suits, board shorts, sarongs…the works! You get the picture. But you have to be sure to wax those bikini lines as well as your legs for that extra oomph. Body Natur’s mid-warm roll on wax and cellulose strips is your best friend during the summer season.  It’s microwavable, and it’s so easy to do. Just pop the roll-on into the oven for 20 seconds, apply and put on the depilation strips, voila, you’re a flawless goddess!

Vacationing with our children need not be stressful. It doesn’t have to be a disaster; in fact, you can build some of your best family memories at the beach! Just be sure to come prepared and let your family enjoy every minute of it.

Summer Giveaway Alert:
If you have been my follower since last year, you would know that I have actually started my blog in February 2010. But I’ve been too lazy to write anything until October 2010 where I’ve started to blog seriously.  So as my post-blog anniversary gift to my loyal followers/friends, I’m having a summer giveaway.

Up for grabs: I’ll be giving away three tubes of Banana Boat Baby Sunscreen Lotion in SPF 50 to three followers (one tube each). I’d also be giving a set of Body Natur’s mid-warm roll on wax with 20 pieces of depilation strips to 1 follower. And the latest Bob Ong book for 1 follower.  And I’d also be giving a Gift Certificate from 7107 islands cruise for an accommodation on an A Deck cabin with buffet meals onboard for two. The said gift certificate is valid until March 2012.

I’ll be raffling it off via fishbowl. And to be fair, I’ll ask someone to pick the winners names. He or she would be someone who does not have any idea about blogging or knows any of the bloggers.

This contest is open for Metro Manila residents only. Provincial residents who would like to join must make be willing to meet-up in Quezon City in case they’ve won. Winners will be notified via email and mobile numbers. Winners must be willing to meet up to be able to claim their prizes. Prizes not claimed within 60 days prior to notice will be forfeited. The author will not be held liable for unclaimed prizes. Contest ends on May 21, 2011.
